Educators and Bassists Crossover to ZETA

Meeting the needs of educators and professional bassists alike, ZETA Music Systems has introduced the latest addition to their line-up of electric upright basses - the Educator Crossover Bass.

Unique to the ZETA Educator Crossover Bass is the ability to play in three distinct styles - as an upright bass, the Educator Crossover can be played both pizzicato (played with the fingers) and arco (played with a bow); and can be played as an electric bass (on a strap, or sitting).

Featuring a standard 34" scale, two-octave fretless neck, the Educator Crossover Bass is the ideal choice for a wide range of players - from young upright enthusiasts, players with smaller hands, or seasoned electric or upright bass players wishing to explore how 'the other half lives'.

The Educator Crossover Bass utilizes ZETA's patented hi-tech pickups and powerful internal electronics, which eliminate feedback while providing acoustically rich, full-frequency bass tones.

ZETA is always at the cutting edge of on-board electronics, and the Educator Crossover bass is no exception. Like all ZETA Educator Series instruments, the Educator Crossover bass includes as standard features the Silent Practice headphone preamp, and is MIDI-capable when used in conjunction with the Synthony II MIDI Processor (sold separately).

Access the sonically infinite world of MIDI - including synthesized sounds, direct notation software, and online jamming and recording via the World Wide Web - with the Educator Crossover bass and Synthony II MIDI Processor.

The built-in Silent Practice headphone preamp allows the player to play along silently to an external audio source - such as CD, MP3, or cassette - plugged directly into the back of the bass.

ZETA was the first to include Silent Practice and MIDI-capable technology into electric upright basses with the release of the Educator Uprite Bass in 2000. The Educator Crossover Bass represents the first 34" scale bass on the market to feature Silent Practice and MIDI-capability. These key technologies of the Educator Crossover Bass open vast worlds of musical possibilities for both professional players and teachers alike.

Hand-crafted in the U.S.A., the Educator Crossover bass features a natural alder body, two-piece hardrock maple neck, two-octave shedua fingerboard; 18-volt active preamp with volume, bass and treble controls; Strados pickup system with dual piezo crystals per string; Silent Practice headphone preamp and MIDI-capability. The Educator Crossover Bass includes a padded gig bag, telescoping endpin, and is backed by ZETA's Limited Lifetime Warranty.

Retail price of the Educator Crossover Bass is $1,595.00
