Saville mix old and new styles in Jazz with Focusrite LIQUID for RecordingSaville mix old and new styles in their jazz-tinged music, but when it comes to their bespoke studio they only work with the best and the newest equipment. They have a list of Focusrite gear installed including not one but three Liquid Channels, and yet more Liquid technology is on the way…Saville are a UK-based band of session musicians creating their own brand of eclectic music which has been described as ‘a groundbreaking, innovative mix of old jazz, technology, laid back musicianship and classic songwriting’. The band have very much embraced Liquid technology at their private and impressive Lincolnshire-based converted barn studio. At the time of our visit, they were in the midst of tracking drums and bass, having all three of their Liquid Channels in use on drum overheads and bass guitar. ""We love the flexibility that the Liquid Channels offer us and particularly like the new version of Liquid Control that allows you to run multiple instances,"" comments John Clark (Percussion/Production). Lizzie Wilson (Singer/Songwriter) further backed this up by confirming that Saville are eagerly anticipating the release of Liquid Mix to add into their current Protools HD3 rig. As well as using Liquid Channels, they also have a Focusrite ISA430 MkII, a RED 3 and a Voicemaster Pro (for guide vocals) sat in the rack. The band, who also include Laurence Bassham (synth/percussion), Tim Hall (Piano/organ/backing vox), Daniel Morgan (guitar/dobro/ukelele), Jamie Lynch (bass) and Gordon Anderson (semi acoustic guitar) are working on their new album which will be out on Funky Business this year.
