Yamaha YPP200 Digital Piano Professional Sound, Sleek Look, Attractive Price

Yamaha Corporation of America, Portable Keyboards, announces the Summer NAMM 2001 debut of the 88-key YPP200 Digital Piano. With its Ebony finish and home-style cabinet, the YPP200 is attractive enough to complement any living room or house of worship, yet durable and functional enough to work in educational environments. The unit will ship in the third quarter of 2001.

"In the past, if consumers wanted Yamaha Digital Piano quality, they would have to either spend much more or sacrifice features," notes Jim Presley, marketing manager, Portable Keyboards, Pro Audio & Combo Division. "The YPP200 is the first 88-key, home-type piano at this price point, and that should certainly appeal to the huge, entry-level market. The YPP200 reaffirms the Yamaha tradition of producing world class products at affordable prices."

The YPP200 features 32 notes of polyphony with eight voices, including three pianos, strings, harpsichord, organ, choir and vibraphone. The list continues with an LED display, adjustable reverb, adjustable touch sensitivity, built-in metronome and transposer. A two-track sequencer allows the left hand to be recorded on track one and the right hand recorded on track two, allowing the user to practice one hand at a time. In addition, a built-in song library contains 20 of the most popular piano songs, and includes a music book.
