I first purchased the Sennheiser E865 Sting but I got some annoying background noise in my lowbudget home studio. I was lucky to change it into a Shure Beta 87, costs a little more but the buzz is gone. (Even though the salesguy said the mikes were equal in quality) and the sound is great!

Entry to mid level LD mike. A bit scooped in the middle, and a little bright on the top end but not bad - better for male vocals. Rugged, great shock mount.
