Roland VClub Set Reviews VClub Set review - by Chip Kunka, rated: 9 ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ i have never enjoyed playing drums so much. I have played drums since 1968 and have had several sets of accoustic drums. After moving to an apartment then buying a condo, i had to settle for an electronic tabletop drum kit (Yamaha DD11)....fun but just not the same! i was getting ready to upgrade to the newest dd model when i learned about the V-club set. After convincing my wife that drums can be considered living room furniture ....(that is another story)....I bought them. wow!!! I cant believe how good they sound and and how easy the module is to adjust (even when playing in low light) i also have been able to midi interface the dd11 machine and thus add 8 more pads and another pedal to the system. i am having toooo much fun. I have the drums hooked up to my home stereo system via a mixing board so i can play with music. i am running a Bose am15 speaker sytem and the bass module sits right under the drum stand so it sounds as if the kick drum is right where it should be. My only faults with the system are few: The input connections are impossible to read in low light (that may be due to my age) and i would like to see a seperate volume control for the midi playback instead of having to call up a menu item. All in all, i cant imagine a better set for the at home drummer who might want to venture out and play with a band, church or community programs. Or just play at home with headphones and imagine the possibilities Is using the Roland VClub Set for Personal enjoyment, some live play on an informal basis but because of this set may get back into playing professionaly again.
