The initial title in Hudson’s groundbreaking series of beginning music methods for the 21st Century, “Getting Started On Drums” is available on two videocassettes or Digital Video Disk (DVD)— marking the first time that the sound, picture and ease-of-access advantages of the modern DVD format have been used in a music instruction video.

“Setting Up!”, the first part of the “Getting Started On Drums” method, includes extensive information on selecting and setting-up a drumset; covering such topics as assembly of the drums and hardware, tuning and ergonomic positioning of the drums, pedals and stands. The second part of the tutorial, “Start Playing!”, features a series of lessons on drumming technique as well as a discussion of the role of the drummer.
