super Drummer Thomas Lang’s 'Creative Control' double-DVD now available from Hudson Music“Creative Control”, a new, 2-disc DVD featuring the incredible drumming and innovative concepts of Thomas Lang is now available from Hudson Music. Captured in high-quality digital video and audio and shot at an exclusive 3-day recording session, the two-disc set showcases the internationally-acclaimed drummer’s advanced hand and feet technique, including his awe-inspiring speed, control, finesse and four-way “interdependence” along with the showmanship, musicality and imagination that have brought the Austrian-born phenomenon to the attention of the worldwide drumming community.The double-DVD contains over 5 hours of completely new material and carries a suggested list price of $49.95. Sections include: advanced technique for hands and feet, applied rudiments and orchestration, dynamic foot control, sticktricks and showmanship, ergonomic mechanics on the drumkit, advanced interdependence and coordination, multi-pedal orchestrations, creative practicing, pad practice, twin effect pedal playing and practice method and contemporary groove concepts. Also included are a photo gallery and extensive Bonus footage of Thomas performing loops, the “Black Page” and jamming as well as live action from the recent “Generation-X” tour featuring "Hot Sand Boogie" and a blistering solo performance. Musical selections include “Dog”, “Angel”, “Balkan” and “Ben's Repellant” by Thomas’ band, CSX, plus two songs (“DJ Morphine” and “Batti e Respiri”) with leading European vocal artist, Gianna Nannini. Among the DVD’s many special features are separate audio files for all of the solos, fills and exercises in both the ACID (PC) and REX (Mac) formats. With the DVD, a computer and available software, players will be able to loop any of the exercises or performances and even change tempo without affecting the pitch— making it easy to absorb and master each example! In addition, the DVDs include printable PDF files of transcriptions of many of Thomas’ exercises and performances, including legendary “The Black Page” by Frank Zappa. The 36 year-old Lang has been drumming since he was 5. During his teens he studied privately with Vienna’s leading orchestral percussionists and later received a classical music education at the Conservatory of Vienna. After leaving the university he relocated to London where he is currently based. Thomas has taught at the Musicians Institute in London and the London School of Music however, due to his growing reputation and demanding schedule, when he’s not performing with noted musicians such as Geri Halliwell, Robbie Williams, Asia, B*witched, John Wetton, Bonnie Tyler, Falco, Mick Jones and Gianna Nannini, he spends much of his time spreading his extra-terrestrial approach to drumming at drum clinics, festivals and seminars all over the world. Thomas plays Sonor drums, Meinl cymbals, Vic Firth sticks, Remo drumheads and practice pads and Roland electronic percussion. status: not yet released
