Cakewalk SONAR 4 Studio Software supports Mackie Control C4 plug-in/instrument controller
Cakewalk, developer of the leading music and sound software for Windows, announced that its flagship SONAR 4 Producer Edition the definitive audio production environment on the Windows platform, along with SONAR 4 Studio Edition, will support the new Mackie Control C4 plug-in and instrument controller. The Mackie Control C4 which is designed for the needs of today's workstation-based musicians and producers, provides four banks of eight V-Pots each, and four full-size displays that provide instant access to as many as 32 software parameters.
The Mackie Control C4 eliminates the need to constantly "bank switch" a standard control surface display in order to access parameter-rich software modules such as soft synths. It features multiple displays and corresponding knobs for simultaneous access of up to 32 parameters of a given software module. Function buttons beneath the displays and knobs allow users to select the arrangement of those parameters and how they show up on screen. The Mackie Control C4 also acts as a "quick fix" tool for fader and pan settings across 32 channels, and can be used independently or in concert with Mackie Control Universal.
“ SONAR 4 support of the Mackie Control C4 is in step with the natural evolution of providing SONAR users with the best tools for music production,” commented Morten Saether, Cakewalk’s SONAR 4 product manager. “The C4 offers instant access to plug-in parameters such of those found in our own Sonitus:fx Suite, and other popular processing tools and virtual instruments,” added Saether.
Availability
Cakewalk plans to have the Mackie Control C4 plug-in module available on the Cakewalk and Mackie web sites for download within 90 days. Registered SONAR 4.0 owners will be able to download it off the web site at no charge.
